
A Lecture abut Human Rights
Coinciding with the occasion of the International Day for the Declaration of Human Rights on 10/12/1948, the Faculty of Basic Education at Diyala University – Continuing Education Division, in cooperation with the Department of Computers and the Human Rights Unit at the Faculty, organized an awareness seminar on (Human Rights in Higher Education: The role of information technology in promoting inclusiveness and justice) With the participation of a number of faculty and students.
The seminar, which was lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahsan Salman Jassim
The seminar addressed the relationship between human rights and higher education, with a focus on the role of information technology in achieving inclusiveness and justice. It reviews how technology can support people with special needs and facilitate access to education for all, especially through digital education and open resources. It highlights the importance of protecting students’ privacy and data in the digital environment, and discusses the challenges of the digital divide and its impact on equal opportunities. Examples of policy and technical solutions to promote human rights in educational institutions are presented. The seminar concludes with practical recommendations to improve the application of these principles in the academic reality
