The supervisory and follow-up committee for students in the internal departments of the Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Ihab Nafeh Kamel and including Assistant Professor Dr. Wafa Sabr Nazzal and lecturer Dr. Nour Abdul Karim Ahmed, conducted a field visit to the internal departments at the university headquarters (for male and female students).
The visit aimed to follow up on the conditions of our college students living in the internal departments and to ensure the availability of a suitable living, health and psychological environment that helps them focus on their studies and academic achievement.
The visit included a comprehensive tour of the public facilities, residential rooms, kitchens and green spaces, as well as following up on the students’ needs and listening directly to their comments and complaints about the services provided, and identifying any challenges they may face during their stay.
For his part, the Director of Internal Departments, Prof. Dr. Zahir Ghanawi, expressed his deep gratitude and praised this inspection visit, emphasising that it reflects the academic and humanitarian concern of the college administration for its students. He pointed out that the Internal Departments Administration always welcomes such cooperative initiatives to ensure the best level of residential services.
This initiative is part of the college’s commitment to supporting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations, and is particularly consistent with the following goals: Goal 3: Good health and well-being: by ensuring a safe and healthy living environment for students, which positively reflects on their physical and psychological well-being. Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities: The visit enhances the quality of university housing facilities, contributing to the building of a sustainable and safe university community. Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals: The cooperation between the college and the internal departments of the university presidency is an example of effective partnership to achieve common goals that serve the student body.
