An educational awareness campaign at Diyala University brings cleanliness back into the university consciousness
The Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala – Arabic Language Department, in collaboration with the Volunteer Work Unit of the Student Activities Division and in coordination with the Media and Government Communications Division, organised an educational awareness campaign during which posters were put up urging people to keep the faculty clean, with the participation of a number of teachers and students.
The campaign aimed to promote environmental awareness on campus, develop positive behaviours among students in maintaining public cleanliness, and create a healthy educational environment that contributes to improving the college’s service and aesthetic reality.
The campaign also included a series of posters and awareness guidelines that focused on the importance of personal and public cleanliness, the need to preserve university facilities, and the reduction of negative practices that affect the study environment.
Those in charge of the campaign emphasised that such initiatives are part of the college’s responsibility to spread a culture of volunteerism and involve students in activities that contribute to raising community awareness and strengthening their sense of belonging to the educational institution.
In the context of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this activity is clearly in line with Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, as well as Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, as it reflects efforts to promote concepts of cleanliness, preserve the environment, and improve the quality of life on campus.
