Introduction to the book …
The concept of democracy is more comprehensive than freedom, and the reason behind this is because democracy includes a set of ideas and principles that center around freedom, in addition to having a wide range of procedures and political practices that were formed over long periods, and it should be noted that there are a set of basics that a society must possess in order to be called a democratic society.
Based on the above, I will deal with the topic of democracy from the historical point of view and objectively, as I believe in the importance of this to learn more about the origin of the concept and to show the points of comparison between the old and contemporary ideas and theses and compare them with the principle of Shura in Islam.
The book serves specialists in political systems and political sociology and is composed of 284 pages and organized into four chapters:
Chapter One (Forms of Government)
Chapter Two (Assignment of power in the democratic system)
Chapter 3 (The electoral system and the issues of democratization in Iraq)
Chapter Four (The Electoral System and the Problems of Democratic Transition in Iraq)
