An academic symposium at Diyala University reveals the secret of institutional success and opens up prospects for cooperation between sciences
The Faculty of Basic Education at Diyala University – Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division and in coordination with the Media and Government Communication Division, a specialized scientific seminar entitled “Management and its Relationship to Other Sciences” in the department hall, attended by a number of the department’s teaching staff and undergraduate students.
Professor Dr. Uday Karim Al-Amiri gave a lecture on the pivotal role of management in the success of institutions, especially in the management of sports institutions, and pointed out the importance of integrating management with other sciences such as psychology, sociology, education, and economics, which contributes to the development of institutional performance and the achievement of desired goals.
The lecturer explained that understanding the components of modern management, such as planning, organization, leadership, and control, is fundamental to building successful sports institutions capable of adapting to contemporary developments.
The symposium recommended the need to strengthen research cooperation between different scientific disciplines to serve sports management. It also recommended introducing modern management concepts into the curricula of physical education and sports science students, as well as holding regular workshops to develop the administrative skills of students and teaching staff.
This symposium comes within the framework of the college’s keenness to support sustainable development goals, especially the fourth goal (quality education), by consolidating scientific knowledge and exchanging academic experiences, thereby enhancing the quality of higher education and contributing to the preparation of cadres capable of leading institutional work efficiently and innovatively.
