The Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala – Arabic Language Department, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Division and in coordination with the Media and Government Communication Division, organised a specialised scientific seminar entitled ‘Presentation and Delivery Skills in Teaching Arabic’, with the participation of a number of teachers and students.
The seminar, presented by Prof. Othman Saadoun Jassim, aimed to develop students’ skills, attitudes and knowledge in the use of presentation and delivery methods, and to adopt effective dialogue and discussion to achieve a positive impact on the audience, as well as to enhance persuasion skills and focus on the arts of presentation and delivery in a university education environment.
The seminar included a discussion of three main themes. The first theme dealt with the definition of presentation skills and their importance in the educational process, while the second theme focused on the characteristics of effective presentation and the factors that contribute to successful communication in the classroom. The third topic addressed the means and types of illustration and the importance of teachers possessing the skills to use them in a way that contributes to improving the quality of educational outcomes.
The seminar recommended the need to promote interest in modern teaching skills, particularly those related to presentation and delivery, given their direct role in achieving educational goals and improving the university learning environment.
The content of this symposium is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), through the development of teaching skills and the improvement of university education efficiency by adopting modern and effective presentation methods.
