A Lecture about Radioactive Decay
The College of Basic Education organizes a scientific seminar entitled (Radioactive decay)
The College of Basic Education, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division, organized a scientific seminar on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. In the Department of Science with the participation of a number of teachers and students
The seminar, which was lectured by Professor Dr. Wasfi Muhammad Kazim and teacher Dr. Ammar Adnan Tohmeh, aimed to identify (radiological analysis)
It included several axes where the first axis included the definition of (radiological analysis and particle classification), the second axis (the theory of radioactive disintegration and decay), while the third axis included (X-rays and how to generate them) and the fourth axis included (continuous and separate radiation spectra).
The seminar recommended the need to identify the types of radiation and stay away from radiation sources and minimize exposure to radiation in all its forms because of its impact on humans, as well as to learn about the equation of radioactive decay and how to calculate the half-life of radioactive elements.
As well as to learn about the dangers of X-rays and how to protect against radiation of all kinds and learn about how X-rays are generated in the X-ray tube and what are the components of the X-ray tube and how to distinguish between continuous and separate radiation spectra and what are the advantages of each type of spectra.
