
Dean of Diyala University listens to the pulse of science students in a meeting that shapes a responsible scientific generation that believes that science is a mission and a commitment to the future
As part of the implementation of the college dean’s annual plan, which aims to promote direct communication between students and academic leaders, the college dean organized an interactive dialogue meeting with science department students, attended by Dr. Nawar Thamer Muhammad, head of the department, and a number of the department’s teaching staff.
The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Aoun, opened the meeting with a welcoming speech in which he expressed his pride in the students of the department, emphasizing that these meetings are part of the college’s efforts to build a conscious university generation capable of shouldering scientific and ethical responsibility and keep pace with the aspirations and needs of society.
The meeting included three main themes in which the Dean addressed a set of educational and developmental guidelines that enhance the university students’ journey: The first theme focused on building the university student’s personality and developing their intellectual and behavioral skills in line with the university’s values and academic mission.
The second theme addressed the importance of fostering positive relationships between students, their peers, and their professors, and instilling the values of respect, discipline, and collective responsibility in preserving college property as a reflection of student awareness and belonging.
In the third theme, the Dean emphasized the importance of instilling a spirit of citizenship and genuine belonging to the homeland, calling on students to work hard and diligently in their studies and to work cooperatively to serve their college and their country.
For his part, Dr. Nawar Thamer Mohammed, Head of the Science Department, praised this constructive meeting, noting that such meetings contribute to deepening dialogue between students and faculty members and help create a university environment that encourages learning and self-development.
At the end of the meeting, the students expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Dean for his continued interest in their academic and educational affairs, emphasizing that this direct communication has a tangible positive impact on their university career and enhances their sense of belonging and responsibility.
This activity is part of the college’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), by instilling the values of citizenship and responsibility and building an educational environment based on respect, belonging, and teamwork.
