Diyala University celebrates Victory Day

Diyala University celebrates Victory Day by hosting the first central festival of the Ansar Cultural Association
Under the patronage of the President of Diyala University, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and in the presence of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amer Mohammed Ibrahim, the university hosted the first central festival organised by the Ansar Cultural Authority in cooperation with Diyala University and the Palace of Culture and Arts on Tuesday morning, 9 December 2025, in celebration of the Great Victory Day. with the wide participation of security, parliamentary, academic and community figures in the province.
The festival began with the national anthem, recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and reading of Surah Al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by official speeches commemorating the heroism of the security forces and the Popular Mobilisation Forces and the sacrifices of the martyrs and wounded in the battles of liberation. The festival also included various artistic performances presented by the Institute of Fine Arts, as well as poems and a theatrical scene expressing the meanings of redemption and sacrifice.
In his speech during the festival, the commander of the Diyala axis, Mr. Talib al-Mousawi, emphasised that the great victory day embodies the will of the Iraqi people and their unity in the face of challenges, calling for this occasion to be used to support the paths of construction and reconstruction and to consolidate the values of peace and love. He explained that victory would not have been achieved without the sacrifices of the martyrs, the patience of their families, and the bravery of the security forces and the Popular Mobilisation Forces.
