
A Seminar about Educational Problems Facing Secondary Schools
The Faculty of Basic Education, Department of Psychological Counseling, in cooperation with Continuing Education, organized a scientific seminar entitled (Educational Problems Facing Secondary Schools).
The seminar was delivered by teacher Muntaha Sabar Abbas and assistant teacher Ithar Riad Abdullah
The aim of the seminar was to introduce the students of the psychological counseling department to some of the educational issues facing secondary schools.
The themes of the seminar were

- Types of educational issues
The symposium concluded with the following recommendations: - Strengthening the role of educational and psychological counseling in schools by providing specialized psychological counselors to help students overcome educational issues.
- Develop awareness programs for teachers and administrators on how to deal with educational issues in modern scientific and educational ways.
- Strengthening communication between schools and parents to ensure that students’ behavior and academic performance are monitored inside and outside the school.
- Provide a safe and supportive school environment that encourages students to express their issues and participate in finding appropriate solutions.
- Conduct periodic field studies to analyze educational issues in secondary schools and propose appropriate solutions.
- Promote the use of modern educational methods based on effective dialogue and discussion instead of traditional methods based on indoctrination and punishment.
- Supporting extracurricular activities such as sports and arts to promote social interaction among students and reduce behavioral issues.
- Activating the role of educational media to spread awareness about educational issues and ways to address them.
- Organizing periodic seminars and workshops to exchange experiences between teachers and counselors on best practices to solve educational issues.
- Promoting the values of respect and tolerance within the school environment
