
A symposium on the Hussain Martyrdom
Diyala University organizes a cultural symposium on the Hussaini cause … Within the launch of the activities of the sixth cultural season for the martyrdom anniversary of “Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and under the slogan (Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, the symbol of our unity) held at the University of Diyala, on the occasion of the eternal Ashrawi anniversary where the martyrdom of the father of the free Imam Hussein and his family and companions, peace be upon them all, and to enhance the cultural and intellectual awareness of students and highlight historical and religious issues with human dimensions, and under the patronage of the President of the University of Diyala, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abd Awn Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education.
The College of Basic Education, in cooperation with the Palace of Culture and Arts – Diyala, one of the formations of the Department of General Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, organized a cultural seminar on (the Husseini case … the beginning of the foundation and factors of extension) in the hall of Dr. Anam Al-Shibani on Monday morning, July 7, 2025, with the participation of a large number of professors, employees, students and those interested in cultural affairs, in addition to a group of researchers and academics specialized in Islamic history and Husseini thought and academic, cultural and media personalities.
The symposium began with a welcoming speech by the session’s rapporteur, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Jadwa Muhammad, in which he stressed the importance of raising such topics that form a pivotal part of the cultural and spiritual identity, pointing out that the Hussaini cause is not just a historical event, but a value system that represents a model of persistence on principles and confronting injustice.
The seminar aimed to deepen the cultural and religious awareness of students and participants by highlighting the dimensions of the Husseinite cause intellectually and historically.
