As part of the Development Program for Graduate Students at Diyala University, Dr. Muayyad Saeed Al-Shammari, an Instructor at the Department of Arabic Language, Gave a Workshop on the Chi-Square test.
The Chi-Square test is one of the most important statistical tests used in analyzing categorical data.
This test is used to compare the expected frequencies of the distributions against the actual frequencies, in order to determine whether there is a significant difference between the two distributions.
In other words, the chi-square test helps us answer the question: does our data conform to a particular distribution, or does it differ significantly from the expected distribution?
Where is the chi-square test used?
The chi-square test is used in many fields, including:
Social sciences: To study relationships between categorical variables, such as gender and education.
Natural sciences: To compare expected and actual distributions in experiments.
Economics: To analyze market data and study consumer behavior.
Psychology: To study preferences and opinions.
