
Dr. Bushra is a Head of PhD Discussion
Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Alaa Naji Jassim, President of Kufa University, and in the presence of the President of Diyala University, Prof. Dr. Tahsin Hussein, the Honorable Mrs. Bushra Abdul Mahdi Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Arabic Language, participated as a member of the doctoral thesis defense committee entitled (The discourse of women in the Holy Quran, a study in sociolinguistics), which was held at the Faculty of Education for Human Sciences / University of Diyala / Allama Mustafa Jawad Hall.
The Faculty of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Diyala discussed the doctoral thesis in Arabic language entitled (Women’s Discourse in the Holy Quran (A Study in Sociolinguistics)).
The study, submitted by student Omar Falah Hamid, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Hussein Ibrahim Mubarak, aimed to show the importance of the study of sociolinguistics as it is an important field in linguistic studies as it focuses on the relationship between language and society and the extent to which social factors affect the use and interaction of language, and the study of sociolinguistics is of great importance as it provides an applied model through which we can see the effects of the social reality in which the discourse occurred, and identify the social characteristics contained in the speech of women in the Holy Quran, related to the linguistic dimension in terms of words and compositions, or in terms of context and context.
The study aims to clarify the concepts of discourse in the language and terminology of ancient and modern Arab scholars, as well as Western scholars, and why women’s discourse was chosen from the rest of the discourses contained in the Holy Quran, and to define words in language and terminology, and to know the influential factors that determine these words in sociolinguistics because of their great importance as the first stage in the study.
