A teacher from Diyala Basic defends a doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Education for Humanities at Diyala University
Assistant Professor Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Murad, who teaches at the Department of Arabic Language – Faculty of Basic Education, has defended his doctoral thesis titled “The Marj of the Two Seas The doctoral thesis titled “The Marj al-Bahrin answers to the objections of the owner of the dictionary on places of Al-Jawhari’s Sahih by Owais bin Muhammad al-Rumi, known as (Wisi) (d. 1037 AH), a study and investigation by doctoral student Muhammad Jawad Kazim, from the College of Education for Humanities at Diyala University. The study, which was supervised by the experienced professor Dr. Makki Noman Mazloum, aimed to study and investigate this book, which is considered one of the unique monuments and precious pearls, for its author, Judge Owais, son of Judge Muhammad Effendi The Ottoman Rumi, nicknamed (Wisi), who was endowed with a wide range of knowledge, a wealth of knowledge, and a wealth of classification and the book was written in lexical criticism, which is one of the fruits of the wide critical movement sparked by Al-Sahahah al-Jawhari and the Oceanic Dictionary of Majid al-Din al-Fayrouzabadi.
The study revealed important linguistic sources from which the author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted, some of which are still in manuscript, such as the book (Al-Manqi’ al-Manqi’ al-Sarif in the explanation of Kafi’ al-Tasrif) by an unknown author, which is manuscript in the library of Hakimoglu in Turkey, and the material of the book, its method of organization, tabulation, and presentation of issues showed a wide knowledge of its author of Arabic sciences and their origins, the scholars’ methods, their methods in composing, the doctrines and choices of the grammarians, the sciences of hadith and genealogy, and others
