
In the halls of the House of Wisdom
My teaching at Diyala University documents Iraqi history in a scientific paper and highlights the achievements of historians at a scientific ceremony in the capital, Baghdad
Confirming Diyala University’s presence in national scientific and cultural forums, Professor Qahtan Hamid Kazim, Chairman of the Scientific Promotions Committee at the Faculty of Basic Education / Diyala University, in a celebration of the scientific achievements of history professors, which was held at the Iraqi House of Wisdom in the capital Baghdad on the morning of Thursday, October 23, 2025, under the slogan: “The head of wisdom is the fear of God Almighty.”
This event was held to celebrate and honor a select group of prominent Iraqi historians in recognition of their scientific contributions and academic careers in the fields of ancient, Islamic, modern, and contemporary history.
During the ceremony, Professor Dr. Qahtan Hamid Kazim presented a scientific research paper entitled:
) Professor Dr. Jaafar Abbas Hamidi: His Biography and Scientific Career
In it, he reviewed the most prominent milestones in the life of Dr. Jaafar Hamidi, his pioneering efforts in establishing the academic historical curriculum, and his rich contributions to scientific research and historical studies in Iraq and the Arab world.
The ceremony honored eleven professors from various Iraqi universities who have made a clear mark in the development of historical research and the promotion of the status of humanities studies in the academic community.
In this context, The Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Aoun, praised this distinguished scientific participation, emphasizing that the presence of the faculty’s teaching staff in such intellectual forums reflects the faculty’s scientific standing and leadership in supporting research and national activities, and contributes to expanding the horizons of scientific cooperation between Iraqi academic institutions.
This participation is in line with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education), which aims to ensure inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, through the dissemination of historical knowledge, honoring researchers, and stimulating academic creativity in the humanities.
