Within the framework of strengthening the bonds of cooperation between academic institutions and professional unions, the Faculty of Basic Education received on Tuesday, 3/6/2025, the representative of the Syndicate of Academics in the University of Diyala Council, Professor Dr. Uday Karim Rahman, in an official visit aimed at consolidating the relationship between the union and faculty members, and discussing ways to support the rights of academics and develop the educational environment.
He was welcomed by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Awn Nazzal, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Baqi Abbas, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Ihab Nafi Kamel, the representative of the Academics Syndicate in the college, and a number of faculty members, where an extensive meeting was held in which the representative of the Syndicate addressed the most important issues of concern to academics, including improving working conditions, ensuring job stability, and enhancing the participation of academics in institutional decision-making.
During his speech, the union representative emphasized that the union is keen to be the voice of academics in various forums and strives to provide legal and professional support to its members, pointing out the importance of the union’s role in enhancing the status of the university professor in society.
For his part, the dean of the college welcomed the visit, stressing the importance of integrated work between the syndicate and the college for the benefit of the educational process and the development of the performance of academic staff.
At the conclusion of the visit, it was agreed to continue joint coordination and hold periodic workshops to raise awareness of trade union rights and relevant legislation, which contributes to building a supportive academic environment that stimulates creativity and excellence.
