The Evaluation and Advancement Platform advances the academic agenda at the sixth session of the Diyala Basic Council as an important hub for formulating visions for the new academic year
The Council of the Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala held its sixth session for the academic year 2025-2026 on the morning of Sunday, 7 December 2025, in the faculty meeting hall, chaired by Assistant Professor Dr Ayman Abdul Aoun, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by the heads of the scientific departments and all members of the Council.
The Dean began the meeting by expressing his sincere gratitude to the members of the Faculty Council for their dedication, considerable efforts and commitment to excellence during the visit of the National Committee for Institutional Evaluation to the Faculty last week, praising the positive impression the Faculty made on the Committee.
The Council addressed a number of important academic and administrative issues on its agenda, most notably the discussion of the preliminary evaluation results of the academic departments and the proposed action plans to improve academic performance and ensure comprehensive quality, as well as following up on the educational process and discussing student issues.
At the end of the meeting, the Dean directed the members of the Council to continue working as a team and to strive continuously to achieve the college’s goals and vision of improving academic and administrative performance and providing the best educational services to the community and students, reflecting the college’s scientific standing and integrity.
The Faculty Council meeting is part of the Faculty’s commitment to supporting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and is particularly in line with the following goals: Goal 4 (Quality Education): Ensuring quality and inclusive education opportunities for all students, developing curricula that promote modern skills, and focusing on continuous assessment of academic performance. Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions): By promoting cooperation, good governance and transparency within the academic institution and decision-making mechanisms. Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): Through the college’s role in protecting academic and cultural heritage and serving the local community with sustainable knowledge and educational initiatives that contribute to building a better future.
