The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi announced the launch of the third edition of the Study in Iraq program for the academic year 2026/2025 to accept international students in Iraqi universities.
He explained in his speech in the presence of a number of representatives of international organizations, Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, parliamentary figures, the Iraqi Academics Syndicate and the advanced staff that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with all its university institutions and formations, has always adopted and completed strategic projects that make the university education environment part of the internationalization process and the globalization of the academic event.
He stressed that the third edition of the Study in Iraq program includes an ambitious plan that includes more than sixteen thousand scholarships to include the largest number of international students and cover more diverse disciplines and wider opportunities for scientific and cultural exchange.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, directed the establishment of the Study in Iraq Association for International Students, the adoption of April 30th as International Student Day, the focus on practical training and the development of Arabic language education programs for non-native speakers.
For his part, the Head of Education and Chargé d’affaires of the UNESCO Office in Iraq, Dr. Tab Raj, congratulated the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the launch of the third edition of the Study in Iraq program, pointing out that Iraq continues to strengthen its ancient heritage by opening its doors to international students from around the world in its universities and educational centers, stressing that these students will contribute to writing a new chapter in the story of this country full of steadfastness and renewal.
