
The President of Diyala University honors the winners of Iraqi Science Day and calls for innovation and scientific excellence
The President of Diyala University, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, honored in his office today, Tuesday, 2025/ 10/14, a number of university faculty members and researchers who won awards on Iraqi Science Day, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in recognition of their outstanding scientific achievements and contributions to enhancing the university’s standing in academic circles.
During the ceremony, the university president said, “We congratulate our creative minds for their achievements and innovations, which earned them top honors on Iraqi Science Day. Diyala University’s three scientific awards, along with other prizes, reflect its sound research approach and its keeping pace with scientific and intellectual developments, and embodies its academic integrity at the national and international levels. He added that this excellence enhances the university’s role in serving the community and building knowledge, calling on all university departments to continue their efforts towards achieving more innovation and scientific excellence, thereby contributing to the advancement of higher education in Iraq.
It is worth mentioning that Diyala University won three scientific awards on Iraqi Science Day, distributed as follows: The Distinguished University Library Award: Professor Dr. Salam Jassim Abdullah.
Volunteer Encouragement Award: Professor Dunya Jalil Ismail and Assistant Professor Maytham Ali Khalifa. Outstanding Graduation Project Award: Assistant Teacher Anfal Salam Ali.
This honor comes within the framework of Diyala University’s keenness to stimulate creativity and scientific research in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, especially the fourth goal (quality education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by promoting an academic environment that encourages innovation and sound scientific production.
