
The University Council Takes Place
The University of Diyala Council holds its twelfth meeting at the Faculty of Engineering and emphasizes active participation in the Iraqi Science Day Awards
The University of Diyala Council held its twelfth meeting for the academic year 2024–2025 on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the College of Engineering, chaired by Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, President of the University, and attended by all members of the Council, to discuss a number of topics on the agenda related to educational and administrative aspects, and to take appropriate decisions in accordance with the instructions, regulations and powers in force.
The session began with a welcome speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Anis Abdullah Kazem, in which he expressed his great pleasure at hosting this important meeting at the faculty, stressing that this step reflects the university presidency’s continued support for its formations and enhances the spirit of communication and joint institutional work.
The University Council expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, for his support and patronage of academic institutions, praising his initiative in honoring the University of Diyala for its outstanding achievements in the fields of science and research.
The University President affirmed that this honor is a culmination of the efforts made by the University and an affirmation of its position among the most prestigious Iraqi universities, expressing his pride in the level the University has reached on various levels. He also stressed the importance of active participation in the Iraqi Science Day Awards, calling for building on what has been achieved previously, especially after the university won eight awards during the last session, which calls for strengthening the efforts of researchers, students, and teaching staff to excel in the next session.
