Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, and the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Ahmed Abu-Ghayez, the President of Diyala University, Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, attended on Friday, 16/5/2025, the opening ceremony of the headquarters of the General Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils in Baghdad.
The Minister stressed that the reopening of the Union’s headquarters in Baghdad is a strategic milestone that reflects the growing confidence in the role of Iraq and its academic institutions in leading scientific initiatives and promoting the paths of joint Arab action in the fields of science, technology and innovation, pointing out that the Ministry is committed to providing all elements of success for this important event.
For his part, during the opening ceremony, which was attended by important figures from Arab and international countries, the President of the University appreciated the attention and support provided by the Minister of Higher Education, which contributes to launching a new phase of Arab research integration from Baghdad.
It should be noted that the General Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils is an organization concerned with coordinating efforts and exchanging expertise among Arab scientific research bodies and centers, working to strengthen cooperation between them and providing opportunities for scientific meetings.
