The Women’s Affairs Unit and the Media Division at Diyala University launch a new awareness campaign at Diyala University through health and social posters that reshape student behaviour
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Basic Education launched a field awareness campaign consisting of hanging up posters with health and social content, in line with the university’s directives aimed at raising student awareness and creating a university environment that is more conscious of health and social responsibility. This campaign was carried out in collaboration with the Faculty’s Media and Government Communication Division, with the participation of a select group of faculty members, including Professor Amal Sabih Salman, Lecturer Dr. Nour Abdulkarim, and Assistant Professor Dr. Laith Abdulstar Ayada.
The campaign aimed to instil the principles of proper socialisation in students, promote a culture of responsible behaviour within the university community, raise awareness of the need to rationalise and conserve water and energy consumption, and emphasise the importance of protecting the environment as a shared responsibility that contributes to sustainability and improving quality of life.
The awareness posters included key messages such as: spreading community awareness about proper socialisation, raising awareness about water and energy conservation and sustainability, and preserving the environment and natural resources.
A number of students praised this initiative and its role in promoting a culture of health and social awareness on campus, emphasising its importance in establishing positive behaviours that are reflected in their educational and personal lives.
The implementation of this campaign is part of the college’s commitment to supporting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, in particular: Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by raising health awareness and reducing harmful behaviours, Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting socialisation and student responsibility, Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) by raising awareness of rational consumption, Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) by educating students on energy conservation, and Goal 13 (Climate Action) by promoting environmental awareness among students.
