
With a creative media eye
Diyala University hones its students’ talents in a professional workshop on the basics of photography
The Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala – the Artistic Activities Unit of the Student Activities Division, in collaboration with the Iraqi Photography Association, Diyala Branch, the Media and Government Communications Division, and the Continuing Education Division, organised a training workshop entitled: (Basic Photography Skills). A number of teachers and students participated in the workshop.
The workshop, which was moderated by assistant teacher Marwa Adnan Faraj and presented by professional photographer and media personality Jalil Ibrahim Hassan, director of Al-Masra Al-Arabi Agency, aimed to develop students’ skills and artistic abilities in the field of photography and provide an educational environment that contributes to enhancing their visual creativity.
The workshop included discussions on several key topics to enable participants to master this hobby: The first topic introduced the types of cameras and their components. The second topic reviewed the basic principles of professional photography. The third topic highlighted the importance of lighting and shooting angles and their impact on image quality. The fourth topic highlighted practical application skills within the university environment.
