
Dr. Nagham and Maam Fatima Publishes a Research
From classrooms in Diyala to conference platforms… Two innovative research papers on English language and artificial intelligence presented at a scientific conference at the University of Sulaymaniyah
As part of supporting scientific research and encouraging academic talent to actively participate in national and international scientific forums, two lecturers from the Faculty of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Nagham Jafar Majid and Assistant Teacher Fatima Jamal Saadallah, participated in the Fourth International Conference on Scientific, Social, and Humanitarian Research, held under the title: “Digital Technology in Support of Scientific Research and Curriculum Development in Various Disciplines” and with the slogan: “Innovation in the Service of Education and Scientific Research” at the University of Sulaymaniyah on September 17-18, 2025.
Ms. Fatima Jamal Saadallah presented a research paper entitled:
“From Interpreter to Operator: Reframing the Researcher’s Role in English Language Studies with ChatGPT as a Case Study”
in which she addressed the cognitive and technical transformation in the role of the linguistic researcher in light of generative artificial intelligence tools, reviewing the possibilities offered by the ChatGPT model in analyzing linguistic data and expanding the scope of research interaction.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nagham Jafar Majid participated with a scientific research paper titled:
“The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Advancing English Linguistic Research: a Corpus-Based Perspective”
which highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence technologies in supporting English language research through corpus-based analysis, with practical examples of text analysis tools.
In a special statement, the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Aoun, praised this distinguished scientific participation, emphasizing that the Faculty always strives to
