About My School When initiatives become a bright reality at Ghafer School… Diyala Elementary implements a volunteer initiative to support low-income students
As part of its commitment to social responsibility, and in implementation of the “About My School” initiative launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the university, the Dean of the College and the Volunteer Work Committee at the College of Basic Education organized a field visit to Ghafer Mixed Elementary School on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
The visit included the distribution of school bags filled with stationery supplies to 30 students from low-income families, in an initiative aimed at easing the burden on families and promoting the principle of social solidarity adopted by the college and the university in their community service policy.
The administration of Ghafer Elementary School expressed its deep thanks and gratitude for this humanitarian initiative, praising the active role of the College of Basic Education and the University of Diyala in providing community support and their keenness to ensure that academic institutions are true partners in advancing both educational and social realities.
This initiative is in line with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education), which emphasizes ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all and promoting lifelong learning opportunities, thereby enhancing the quality of the educational environment and supporting efforts to improve educational opportunities for children in low-income communities.
