A Seminar for Dr. Jaafar
A journey into scientific research… A seminar at Diyala University explores the curriculum map between idea, source, and structural framework
The Faculty of Basic Education at Diyala University – Computer Science Department, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Division and in coordination with the Media and Government Communication Division, organized a scientific seminar entitled “The General Framework of Scientific Research: Elements and Structure,” attended by a number of faculty members, researchers, and graduate students, as part of the college’s efforts to promote a culture of research and establish the principles of the scientific method in the academic environment.
The seminar, presented by Prof. Dr. Jaafar Hassan Jassim, aimed to define scientific research and its importance in the development of knowledge, highlight the organizational procedures that contribute to building sound and objective research, in addition to explaining the basic elements of a scientific research plan and clarifying the difference between references, sources, and footnotes in terms of academic use and documentation.
The seminar included a discussion of three topics. The first topic was the nature of scientific research and its place in the academic process. The second topic focused on the most important elements of a scientific research plan, from identifying the problem and formulating hypotheses to designing the methodology and data collection tools. The third topic concluded with the subject of references, sources, and footnotes, in terms of methodological differences and their role in ensuring the accuracy of information and the validity of documentation.
The seminar recommended that researchers adhere to scientific research methodology and methodology at all stages of their research preparation. It also emphasized the importance of differentiating between sources, references, and footnotes when using and documenting them to ensure the integrity and academic accuracy of the research.
This symposium is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the college in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, which calls for ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all and promoting lifelong learning opportunities.
