A springboard to sporting excellence… A new batch of direct admission tests kicks off at Diyala University
The Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala continues to conduct direct admission tests for applicants to the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, as part of the second batch of admission procedures for the academic year (2025-2026), amid careful organization and direct supervision by the academic and administrative staff specialized in the department.
The tests varied between physical, skill, and psychological tests, which aim to measure general fitness, motor abilities, and basic skills in individual and team sports, as well as testing neuromuscular compatibility , endurance, and strength to determine the physical and psychological suitability of applicants for the requirements of study in the department.
The process also included a short written test on general sports knowledge, as well as personal interviews with the relevant committee, which focused on the applicants’ motivations and sporting inclinations, and discussed their future academic and professional aspirations in the field of sports.
In a special statement to the college’s media division, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Hamid Karim, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, emphasized that “the department is keen to select students according to precise criteria that combine physical ability, mental readiness, and athletic passion, as we work to qualify athletic cadres capable of contributing effectively to the development of school and community sports and promoting a culture of health and physical activity.”
He added that admission tests are an essential step in building the right educational path for students, ensuring the quality of educational inputs, which will have an impact on the level of future graduates.
