Basic Diyala breathes green
Environmental cooperation with the Diyala Environment Directorate to paint a sustainability mural in front of the college
In an environmental demonstration that reflects the college’s philosophy of transitioning to a green campus, the Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala, in fruitful cooperation with the Department of Environmental Protection and Improvement in the Central Region, the Diyala Environment Directorate and the Baquba Municipality Directorate, organised a large-scale tree planting campaign, targeting the college’s facade and surrounding outdoor areas, to plant many permanent tree seedlings.
The campaign aimed to add an aesthetic touch befitting the academic edifice and create a clean environment that contributes to reducing carbon emissions and improving the local climate surrounding the college, as well as raising environmental awareness among students and staff of the importance of tree planting as a civilised act and a national duty.
This campaign is part of the college’s regular programme to combat desertification and increase green spaces, and embodies the genuine partnership between the university and state service institutions. This initiative effectively contributes to providing spaces that are pleasing to the eye and soul, which has a positive impact on the psychological well-being of our students and staff, and confirms the college’s leadership in adopting environmentally friendly projects for 2025.
