
Basic Education College opens doors of excellence to national accreditation team
Praise for academic development and quality of education at the college
As part of the Basic Education College’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and establish a culture of academic excellence, the Faculty Council welcomed the national accreditation team and the Institutional Accreditation Council from the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Monday, 1 December 2025, for a field visit to review the scientific and administrative capabilities, quality assurance mechanisms and evaluation processes in academic programmes.
During the reception, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Aoun, expressed his high appreciation for the efforts made by the Ministry to consolidate the educational process, emphasising the College’s keenness to complete all national accreditation requirements in accordance with the approved standards. He pointed out that the Faculty Council has developed clear plans to achieve the highest levels of quality and academic excellence, hoping that these efforts, which were implemented in a spirit of teamwork, will be crowned with national institutional accreditation.
For his part, the head of the national evaluation team, Dr. Khalid Shanaweh, and his accompanying team explained that the visit aims to assess the current status of the educational institution and ensure its application of quality standards and continuous development.
He pointed out that the visit programme included a review of the educational environment, infrastructure, teaching practices, and quality assurance mechanisms in various departments of the college, based on the evidence and documents approved in the national institutional accreditation manual, praising the college’s organisation and level of readiness.
This visit is in line with the college’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and develop its academic environment, contributing to the achievement of the ninth Sustainable Development Goal: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through supporting educational infrastructure, developing laboratories and classrooms, as well as strengthening institutional cooperation between the college, the university and the relevant ministry in quality assurance, thereby laying the foundations for sustainable development in the higher education and scientific research sector.
