The President of Diyala University receives the Director General of the Midland Oil Company and stresses the importance of strengthening joint cooperation and developing training programs
In line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to strengthen partnerships between universities and various sectors, particularly the oil sector, The President of Diyala University, Prof. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, received the Director General of Midland Oil Company, Mr. Mohammed Yassin Hassan, in his office on Thursday morning (October 2, 2025) to discuss mechanisms for joint cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, the President of the University emphasized Diyala University’s keenness to open up and integrate with state institutions, pointing out the importance of utilizing the scientific and technical capabilities of the university’s faculties and laboratories, especially in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, to develop joint training programs that contribute to raising the efficiency of human cadres in the oil sector, as well as providing long-term training opportunities for university students in oil fields and facilities.
He added that the university seeks to crystallize this cooperation by signing a joint memorandum of understanding that includes scientific and research exchange programs and the formation of specialized committees to follow up on the implementation of training and development plans. At the same time, he praised the Ministry of Oil’s support for the education sector and its contributions to the development of digital infrastructure for universities, which enhances the quality of education and keeps pace with modern technological developments.
For his part, the Director General of Midland Oil Company expressed his gratitude and high appreciation to the university’s presidency, stressing that the company owns many oil fields in Diyala province and needs specialized academic expertise to contribute to the development of its performance.
