The school as an educational laboratory
Computer science students at Diyala University consolidate their practical skills at Al-Hurriya Secondary School for Girls
As part of efforts to strengthen practical skills and link theoretical study to educational reality, the Computer Science Department organised a field trip for fourth-year students to Al-Hurriya Secondary School for Gifted Girls, with the participation of a number of students from the department, in preparation for the practical application phase in schools during the second semester.
The visit, which was supervised by Professor Dr. Hayam Gaib Hussein, aimed to consolidate the basics of practical education among students, prepare them psychologically and professionally for the field education experience, and give them a close look at the school environment, classroom management mechanisms, and dealing with daily educational requests.
The visit included a tour of the school corridors, a look at the classrooms and laboratories, an introduction to the methods used in organising lessons and managing time, as well as a discussion of the most prominent challenges that students may face and ways to deal with them in a sober educational and scientific manner.
