The Speech of the Dean of the College of Basic Education
The first matter the developing countries seek is to pay attention to educating their individuals, disseminating learning and giving them equal learning opportunities because they assume the far-reaching importance of education and teaching in the development of both individual and community.
Moreover, attention is also paid for the process of teacher preparation because s/he represents the cornerstone in scientific education and its key which has to be well-prepared in terms of specialty and possessing the required teaching and educational skills for doing the professional task properly and to achieve the general objectives in education and teaching , namely , building the learner's personality scientifically , culturally , emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Consequently, the college of basic Education became the first core of the establishment of the university of Diyala by the name of ' College of Teachers ' in 1994. Then, the process of establishing other colleges begun. This is an indication of the importance of this cultural edifice by which communities are built up.
Currently, the college of Basic Education constitutes the significant part of the university in terms of the number of students, instructors, employees and the scientific departments. And from this college, most of the university colleges have been originated. Currently, the college includes ten departments of scientific and humanistic fields with advanced high-ranking teaching staff of Ph.D and M.A. holders.
All those who work in the college have infinite aspiration for keeping it a landmark that outspreads its glare with all the institutions starting with the directorate general of Education, the directorate of Youth and Sport, the directorate of Environment and the directorates attached to the ministry of Work and Social Affairs.
Beside the other civil community institutions, the college and these institutions work towards developing the scientific and societal status in the province in particular and in Iraq in general.
We ask Almighty Allah to grant success to all who work in the college for developing Iraq.
