
Mr. Dean Meets History Department
Towards a renewed academic year… A preparatory meeting brings together the Dean of Diyala University and his scientific assistant with professors from the History Department
In an atmosphere of optimism, love, and striving for excellence, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Aoun, accompanied by his scientific assistant, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Baqi Abbas, met with members of the teaching staff in the History Department, in the presence of the Head of the History Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ishraq Issa Abdul, as part of the college’s preparations to welcome the new academic year 2025-2026.
The Dean began the meeting with a welcoming speech in which he expressed his pride in the academic staff, praising their efforts in recent years and emphasizing the importance of the coming phase in light of the educational and technical challenges facing the higher education sector. He stressed the need for early preparation for the academic year and working as a team to ensure a stimulating and effective learning environment for students.
For his part, the Scientific Assistant emphasized the importance of adhering to the academic plan and updating the curriculum in line with recent scientific developments, pointing out the role of university professors in building students’ intellectual and cognitive abilities and stressing the importance of positive interaction between teachers and students.
The meeting witnessed constructive discussions on the most prominent challenges facing the departments and ways to overcome them, in addition to proposing developments that contribute to enhancing the quality of academic performance and scientific research.
These meetings come within the framework of the college’s efforts to achieve its strategic objectives, particularly those that intersect with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal, which states: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” The college believes that education is the foundation for building an informed and prosperous society.
