Diyala University opens the path to excellence for entrance exams in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences
As part of the direct admission procedures for the academic year (2025/2026), the Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala conducted admission tests for students applying to the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences on the private government education channel (Al-Mawazi), in the faculty’s halls and playgrounds on the morning of Thursday, November 6, 2025, under the supervision of specialized professors.
These tests aim to measure the physical abilities, skills, health, and psychological fitness of the applicants to ensure their eligibility to study in a major that requires comprehensive physical and professional preparation, in line with the requirements of work in the fields of physical education and sports training.
The test sections varied to include general fitness, speed, flexibility, endurance, and strength tests, as well as motor skills and anthropometric measurements (height, weight, and body mass index), under the supervision of a specialized committee of department faculty members with experience in physical and educational testing.
In a statement to the college’s media division, the head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Hamid Karim, explained that:
“These tests represent an important stage in selecting students who are able to keep up with the requirements of study in the department, as we are keen to achieve academic quality standards and scientific selection based on physical and cognitive competence. The college also affirms its commitment to providing a sound educational environment that contributes to the preparation of qualified sports cadres who contribute to supporting the sports and educational movement in the country.”
At the conclusion of the testing activities, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Aoun, praised the efforts of the organizational, technical, and administrative committees that contributed to the success of this process, emphasizing that the college continues to apply fair and transparent academic admission standards, in line with the plans of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to improve university education.
This activity is in line with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education), which calls for ensuring equitable and inclusive quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, in addition to the third goal (Good Health and Well-being), as it directly supports the promotion of a culture of fitness and physical health in the university environment.
