A new academic dawn for Diyala University embodies its international leadership in academic supervision accredited by the State of Malaysia
Within the framework of the Faculty of Basic Education at Diyala University’s orientation towards scientific openness, international cooperation, and the exchange of academic experiences at the global level, Dr. Israa Akef Ali Al-Obeidi, a lecturer in the Department of Science, obtained an international certificate as an international academic supervisor from the Scientific Events Portal in Malaysia, with the participation of a select group of international professors and researchers from various countries and universities around the world.
This achievement came after Dr. Israa completed the requirements of the professional diploma program in academic supervision and research guidance for students, which was held via a closed electronic circuit using the Zoom application from September 1, 2025, to November 4, 2025.
The program included 20 lectures in English, totaling 40 training hours, covering specialized scientific topics in academic supervision, research guidance skills, and academic quality assurance controls in international supervision. Dr. Al-Shammari successfully passed the final exam and fulfilled all the requirements of the academic program, qualifying her to perform academic supervision and research guidance tasks in accordance with approved international standards.
In this context, The Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Aoun, praised this outstanding academic achievement, appreciating her teaching efforts and her role in enhancing the status of the faculty and the university at the regional and international levels, stressing that such successes reflect the faculty’s keenness to support scientific competencies and openness to serious academic experiences around the world.
This scientific achievement is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: “Quality Education,” which calls for ensuring equitable and inclusive quality education for all and promoting lifelong learning opportunities, which is what the Faculty of Basic Education strives for in its academic and community mission.
