Achieving quality education through sustainability

Diyala University organises an awareness seminar on sustainable future
The Faculty of Basic Education at Diyala University – Arabic Language Department, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division and in coordination with the Media and Government Communication Division, organised an awareness seminar entitled: ‘Sustainable Development and its Role in Achieving Quality Education,’ as part of awareness activities aimed at promoting awareness of the importance of sustainability in developing the educational process and improving its outcomes.
The seminar, presented by Assistant Professor Hawra Hamid Abdullah, addressed the concept of sustainable development and its various dimensions, highlighting its close relationship with the quality of education and its role in building generations capable of keeping pace with the demands of the times and contributing effectively to the development of society. It also reviewed the most prominent educational practices that support sustainability and the importance of employing them in educational institutions to achieve quality and comprehensive education.
The seminar witnessed remarkable interaction from the audience, with many questions and comments that enriched the discussion and contributed to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms for applying sustainability concepts in the educational environment.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the organisers emphasised the importance of continuing to hold such awareness-raising events, given their active role in spreading a culture of sustainable development and enhancing the quality of education in a way that serves both the individual and society.
