Victory Day songs fill the skies over Diyala

A grand festival celebrating the glorious Victory Day
On the occasion of Victory Day, the Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala – Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, in cooperation with the Student Activities Division and in coordination with the Media and Government Communications Division, organised a joyful celebration. The events were held in an atmosphere of overwhelming joy and delight in celebration of this day, which is dear to the hearts of all Iraqis, with the wide participation of faculty members, teachers and students.
The festival began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a reading of Surah Al-Fatihah in memory of the souls of Iraq’s noble martyrs, who sacrificed their precious blood for their country. Afterwards, the Iraqi national anthem was played while everyone stood in honour of the national symbol.
The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayman Abdul Aoun, then gave a moving speech in which he said: “Today we celebrate the memory of the great victory that was achieved thanks to the unity of the Iraqi people and the heroism of our security forces of all kinds. This day is a source of pride and honour, from which we draw inspiration and determination to build a secure, stable and prosperous Iraq. We affirm from our college that the development of educated individuals is a complement to military victory.
