When students sketch the contours of life
Diyala awakens the magic of storytelling at the Short Story Festival
In a literary event celebrating the magic of words and the power of imagination, the Student Activities Division at the Faculty of Basic Education at the University of Diyala, in collaboration with the Arabic Language Department and the Media and Government Communications Division, and in coordination with the Continuing Education Division, and under the direct patronage of the Faculty Dean, held a major short story competition. The competition, which was held in the Dr Abbas Al-Dulaimi Hall, saw wide and distinguished participation from faculty students in both the morning and evening programmes.
The competition aimed to discover the literary treasures and hidden talents of students and develop them by encouraging them to engage in short story writing, thereby contributing to the promotion of literary and intellectual culture within the university environment and creating a generation aware of the value of art and beauty.
The competition included a collection of short stories woven by students with fertile imaginations, addressing profound human, social and national themes. A specialised jury composed of academic figures evaluated the entries according to recognised artistic and literary criteria, praising the outstanding level of the participating works, which reflected intellectual and stylistic maturity.
